Classics

And this is the flier for the Classics Minor at Bethel. After everyone saw the Film Studies materials, I've received requests from a number of departments. That feels pretty nice.
The background consists of an old map, a photo of a rusty rock, three different types of vector images from Arsenal. (Go to this site... it is so wonderful, I might cry.)
Film Studies Promotion

The golden text that is running all across the piece is a collection of about 200 of the best films of all time and their directors. There is also a diagonal pattern of film reels as another layer. I'm quite proud of how it turned out, actually.
Wood Work

Hello all! I made this because Christine told me to. She was putting together something for a little known company that rhymes with "Schmoston Schmientific." I told her the word was spelled "T E X A S," but she just wouldn't listen. The instructions were from here. A great little site, if I do say so myself. The wood texture in the background is from an online catalog for wood wholesalers.

I've discovered my purpose!!!
Finally! I've found a purpose for this particular blog. Not that I dislike blogs or nothin'.... but I've been blogging my brains out on my other site.
I've decided to use this blog to post my graphic design work. If I'm going to be stuck at this desk all day with Photoshop, I might as well get some experience, aye?

This was actually a mock up for the promotion. I never met anyone from the play; all of our communication was through email. This is the first piece they saw, and told me to print it. The picture of the woman on the lower right was eventually replaced by a photograph of the author's own mother who had passed away after a long fight with a terminal illness.
Both this piece and the Chinese language flier above were done quite a while ago. I don't have any formal training in Photoshop, so if I did anything right, it was a total accident.
Business Cards

Here is a business card for my good buddy Laura. She's currently in school, finishing up her degree in photography. I'm a big fan of simplicity and high contrast and she seems to be too.

Without further delay, here is my little gem of a business card. I wanted to be able to give something out to potential "subjects" when I started field research on my thesis. In other words, I'm not just some creepy girl asking to see your tattoo... I'm some creepy girl with a business card asking to see your tattoo. Waaaaay better.
I decided to keep a running format for all of my thesis work, so my background here is the same as my website. I think it makes me look more professional and gives the appearance that I am slightly competent. Little to you know!!
